Angela’s first job was working for her Dad’s engineering design firm in San Francisco. There she saw firsthand the satisfaction that comes from solving challenging problems and the pride her Dad took in providing excellent client service. While Angela did not follow in her Dad’s engineering footsteps, she did the next best thing and became a CPA!
After graduating from San Diego State University, Angela worked in the tax departments of KPMG and Deloitte. There she became both a well-rounded generalist and an expert in real estate and partnership taxation. Plus, she earned a Masters in Taxation from the University of San Diego. Her next move was to Los Angeles where she combined her skills and proactive nature to the benefit of her high net worth individual clients.
In 2006, Angela continued her migration north and relocated to Vancouver. First, she worked at a mid-sized CPA firm in Downtown Portland for 8 years where she honed her partnership and high-net worth expertise while working on complex business transactions. Then, in 2015, she joined our emerging firm in Vancouver, Opsahl Dawson – a firm that exhibits the same timeless spirit of excellence that she first experienced at her Dad’s engineering firm.
Angela’s passion for the tax law is infectious. She is happy to use her encyclopedic knowledge to save you money. Eager to give back to the profession, she jumped at the chance to teach taxation at the university. She was an adjunct instructor at Eastern Oregon University, Portland State University and Washington State University Vancouver.
Outside of work, Angela enjoys spending time with friends and family, taking both urban and nature walks and seeing as many movies as she can.
