Brian got his start leading high-performing teams as a special operations officer in the Navy’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal community. It was, however, his time as the COO (and de-facto CFO) of a PNW-based software company that ultimately led him to Opsahl Dawson. The critical role that his outsourced finance and accounting partners played in the success of that business opened his eyes to the tremendous impact that firms like Opsahl Dawson can have on businesses and—ultimately—our communities in the Pacific Northwest.

A seasoned strategy and operations leader, Brian has led teams and grown companies ranging from small startups to 100+ person divisions of growth equity and Fortune 500 businesses. Brian received an MBA from Harvard Business School, an MA from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, and a BS from the United States Naval Academy.

Brian lives in Portland, OR with his wife, son, and daughter. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, surfing, hiking, and the challenge of attempting to stay in shape while parenting two very young and energetic children.
