Katye is an Alabamian from top to bottom. After earning her undergraduate degree at the University of North Alabama with Summa Cum Laude honors, she went on to obtain her MAcc from the University of South Alabama while simultaneously beginning her public accounting career in Fairhope, Alabama. She received her CPA license in 2011 and has worked at various reputable firms throughout Alabama since 2008. The Coats family returned to Katye’s hometown of Decatur, Alabama in 2018 to raise their children near family.

Most of Katye’s career in public accounting has been in tax consulting and compliance with a concentration on the real estate and construction industries where she focuses on cultivating proactive approaches to compliance and strategic planning.

Katye and her husband have a son and daughter who keep them occupied with sports and other activities. Their family enjoys spending time with their families, church friends, and are actively involved in their community. Katye also loves to cook and entertain as often as possible.
