Kendra Widger

SENIOR

Starting life out in California, Kendra and her family moved near Olympia, Washington when she was only 10 years old. Kendra has always had a passion for numbers and puzzles, which led to her indulgence of the puzzles Sudoku, Kakuro and KenKen. She was top in her Trigonometry class in high school earning her a graphing calculator from her teacher, which she still has with her to this day.

After graduating high school, like so many, she didn’t know which career path to take. She tried her hand at working in Special Education for two years, but decided to go back to school to pursue a path in Business. Within the first week of classes she fell in love with accounting proving that her teacher was correct in saying “accounting is fun.” She moved down to Vancouver for WSUV’s excellent accounting program. During her senior year she interned for her first tax season with Marshall Waldman, CPA and returned for five additional tax seasons. She left public accounting for a short time in 2015 to expand her knowledge of bookkeeping in private industry. Finally she has found her home back in public accounting with an amazing accounting family at Opsahl Dawson.

In her spare time Kendra enjoys spending time with her husband Garreth, watching TV, going for walks, working in the yard and caring for their unusual group of animals. She is also a DC comic collector and collector of the odd Funko Pop! figure lines.
