Marianne Knight, JD, CPA

DIRECTOR OF TAX RESEARCH

Marianne is a native of South Florida.  A cum laude graduate from the University of Florida with a degree in accounting,  she decided to continue on with her schooling to pursue a law degree with a concentration in tax from the University of Miami School of Law.  Obtaining both Florida CPA and Bar licenses, she spent her first nine years in public accounting with Deloitte where she developed a specialty in business entities, particularly those with international, multi-state and real estate activities.  Her work experience also includes private-industry experience as Senior Tax Counsel for one of the largest privately-held companies in the United States.  During her time in private-industry she gained additional skills in tax research and planning, M&A transactions, due diligence and tax audit management.

Outside of work, Marianne enjoys visiting her three daughters and entertaining her dog, a mini-Aussie rescue that excels in herding people and iguanas.  Since her early childhood days she has been passionate about road trips, the outdoors and the National Park System: a “gene” she has successfully passed on to her daughters who have now exceeded her latest count of parks visited. Her hobbies include photography and scrapbooking.
