Matt grew up in Fallbrook, California, a small town in northern San Diego County. While living in Fallbrook, he played baseball from age 5 through his senior year of high school. He played year around competitive travel ball, while enjoying everything San Diego has to offer.

After high school, Matt attended Willamette University to pursue a mathematics degree and a collegiate career in baseball. While at Willamette, Matt met his wife and discovered the field of accounting. He transferred to Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington to complete his schooling and obtain his accounting degree. Matt worked for a small regional firm directly out of school, where he experienced a wide variety of tax and accounting matters. He particularly enjoys working with businesses and individuals to optimize their tax situations.

In his spare time, Matt enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and son. He loves playing sports, hiking, grilling, and enjoying the seasons the Inland Northwest has to offer. He also loves to watch all sports, but really enjoys watching the Red Sox, Padres, and Mariners.
