Tom Burke, CPA
Tom grew up amongst the trees in a small town called Belfair, Washington. When not riding bicycles, playing football, or jumping off the docks at low tide, he found himself playing guitar. Tom’s love of guitar eventually took him to Ellensburg, Washington, home of the Central Washington University Wildcats, to study professionally. While also working towards a minor in business, it became clear to Tom that he enjoyed business and had an affinity towards accounting. He decided to switch majors from music to accounting and received his undergraduate degree in 2011.
Tom and his wife moved to the Oregon coast in Florence, Oregon in 2013 to begin his career in public accounting. Tom has never looked back. He quickly began working on his CPA license, which he attained in 2019. After three years, Tom moved to a local firm in Portland, Oregon where he focused on business taxation. Five years later, seeking a place to do more of the things he loves – helping small business owners in business and tax – Tom joined the Opsahl Dawson team.
Tom is an avid reader of non-fiction books with emphasis on business, leadership, and sales, although his wife will sneak some fantasy and Sci-fiction into his reading too. Along with their cat, Tom and his wife live in the greater Portland area.
