Tyler grew up in the small, rural town of Saegertown, Pennsylvania, where most of his family still resides. He spent his younger years staying busy with sports, including basketball, volleyball, baseball, and golf. In the classroom, Tyler always enjoyed working with numbers and excelled in anything involving math.

Tyler attended Mercyhurst University in Erie, PA, where he continued his golf career while obtaining his bachelor’s degree in accounting. He then attended Clarion University of Pennsylvania, where he obtained his MBA in July 2011.

Tyler has been preparing tax returns since his junior year of college, when he began working as an intern for a local firm. He passed the CPA exam and received his license in September 2012. Prior to joining Opsahl Dawson, Tyler began his full-time career at a regional accounting firm in Pittsburgh, PA, and more recently served as a manager at a regional firm in Erie. During his time in public accounting, he has gained valuable experience in individual and business taxation and financial statement preparation.

In his free time, Tyler enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 daughters, exercising, and working on his golf swing as much as his schedule and the lake effect snowstorms allow.
